About

David Stephens is from Atlanta, Ga., and an alumnus from The University of Georgia. After owning and running a service company for interior design firms in Atlanta for 10 years, he sold it and began his real estate career in the Athens, Ga market. Later he shifted his focus to real estate in the north Atlanta communities of Braselton/ Buford and surrounding areas. David has over 25 years of real estate experience as a Realtor sales associate, associate broker, and broker of his own company. He has extensive experienced with buyers, sellers, investors, investment properties, flip properties, and both government and privately owned foreclosures. David focuses on his client’s needs and helps to guide them through the unique process of buying and selling property here in Mexico. Although David has been a full-time resident of San Miguel since 2017, He has been coming on a regular basis to SMA since 1988 to visit family and vacation. He is a guitar enthusiast and loves anything to do with the outdoors here in sunny San Miguel de Allende.

We came to San Miguel de Allende on our honeymoon to experience a little of Mexican colonial culture. We didn’t expect to buy a home, but we did think it would be interesting to “look around” and see what was possible. David Stephens was recommended to us by our Bed & Breakfast hosts so we met with him and he graciously showed us around to the different areas of SMA and a few of the houses on the market. Later, after we returned to the States, we asked that he continue to work with us to find that special place we had in mind. We found one on-line that was outside the city and had a walled yard (nice for our 8 year old adopted son), beautiful flowering plants, and nice terraced porches. Inside was an open plan with columns, boveda ceilings, 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, and beautiful furnishings and artwork. David did some on-line videos for us to give us a better idea of the house and surroundings, including the bumpy ride to get there, a 10-15 minute ride from the city. We bought it sight unseen (other than the videos) because it felt “right” for our needs. Imagine our trepidation when we came back to Mexico 9 months later and David showed us our house in person for the first time! Our main response was “Wow”. Since then we have continued to make it our home by adding a garden and chicken coop, and personal decorative and practical touches inside. Our Mexican casa has come to be truly home for us.
